This internal lock part is used in Chubb mortice locks.
When you insert the key into the lock, the key will remain centred and straight because of this part. If your lock is starting to give you trouble and your key is clicky or not working, you might want to replace this part. This part does wear out over time and is one of the most common faults with Chubb locks. If your key is not straight when you turn your key, your lock will not work correctly.
